About the Practitioner

Marchelle Brown,CMT, CLT, has an extensive massage therapy background and education, with more than 30 years practical experience in the field.

In 1985 she attended one of the first US-based manual lymph drainage (MLD) training sessions presented by Austria's prestigious Dr. Vodder School, studying with the school's principal, Hildegard Whittlinger.  For the next decade, Marchelle performed MLD while continuing her Vodder studies in the US and Canada, becoming fully certified in complex decongestive therapy (CDT) in 1995.  She worked in the UCLA Rehabilitation Department's Lymphedema Therapy Program from 1995 until 2000, when the program was discontinued.  After the UCLA program closed, Ms. Brown co-founded a lymphedema program in the South Bay where she continued to work with lymphedema patients.  In addition, Marchelle has worked at multiple physical therapy offices working along side a team of practitioners.  She now enjoys working solely in her private practice.

Seeking to expand her practical and theoretical knowledge of lymphatic and lymphedema therapy, she was certified in 1997 by the Lerner Academy of Lymphatic Studies, New York, taught by Gunther Klose.  In 1998, she traveled to Germany to attend the internationally renowned Foeldi School in Hinterzarten, where she was certified in complex decongestive therapy (CDT).  IN 2001, she went to Walchsee, Austria, for further studies at the original Dr. Vodder School, where she was re-certified.  Marchelle continues to update her education by attending classes and conferences in the study of lymphatic system.

Ms. Brown is also licensed Esthetician/Skin Care Therapist and includes manual lymph drainage in her facials.
